Values

Commitment to the Bible & Gospel

2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God[a] may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Devotion to Multiplication

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Partnering in Spreading the Gospel

Philippians 1:3-8
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

Relationally Serving our Community

Matthew 22:37-39
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Beliefs

THE NATURE OF GOD

There is one God who eternally exists as three Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and is the sovereign creator of all things. (Genesis 1:1)

SCRIPTURE

God is the final authority as revealed in His perfect, trustworthy, and inspired Word, which unfolds His character and His purposes. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

THE PURPOSE OF GOD

Everyone and everything has been made by God and for God and therefore all glory belongs to Him. (Colossians 1:15-20)

HUMAN NATURE

God uniquely created humanity in His own image. (Genesis 1:27)

SIN

The world is fallen, and all humanity is separated from God because of sin. (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23)

THE NATURE OF JESUS

Jesus Christ is the virgin-born Son of God, simultaneously fully God and fully man, absolutely perfect. (Matthew 1:18-25)

JESUS’ DEATH & RESURRECTION

Jesus Christ died on the cross, rose from the dead, appeared to many, and ascended to heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)

SALVATION

Salvation comes through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross plus nothing on the part of humanity. (Ephesians 2:1-10)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, seals at conversion, gifts, guides, and empowers the believer and the church. (John 16:5-15; Ephesians 1:13; Acts 1:8)

THE CHURCH

The church is the body of Christ, with Christ as the Head, and functions to fulfill the mission of God. (1 Corinthians 12)

JESUS’ SECOND COMING

Jesus will return, and there will be a final judgment. (Matthew 24, 25)

THE ETERNAL STATE OF HUMANITY

All people who have faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity with God in His Kingdom, and all people who do not have faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity separated from God in hell. (Matthew 25; John 5:24; Revelation 20:11-15)

MARRIAGE & SEXUALITY

Our biblical beliefs about marriage, sexuality and families are as follows:

We believe that God wonderfully and intentionally creates each person as male or female. (Genesis 1:26-27)

We believe that each person has been “fearfully and wonderfully made,” and that God has assigned a permanent and specific gender to each individual. God’s choice is perfect and purposeful, and helps to fulfill God’s redemptive purpose within the life of the individual and His Kingdom. (Psalm 139:13-16)

We believe that God created marriage as a picture of Christ’s relationship with the church. (Ephesians 5:22-32)

We believe the term marriage has only one meaning: The uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in a single, exclusive union. (Genesis 2:24)

We believe that God’s desire for marriage is to be the foundation for strong families, which will lead to strong churches and societies. (Psalm 103:17-18)

We believe that the Lord has given marriage to us as a gift that is to be enjoyed and celebrated as a good thing. (Proverbs 18:22)

We believe that God is to be at the center of the marriage relationship. (John 3:30)

We believe the most successful and God-honoring marriages will be the ones that consistently have both husband and wife equally committed to putting God first in their relationship. (2 Corinthians 6:14)

We believe that we need God’s grace in order for us to do this well, and that He gives grace to us so that we can honor Him in all things. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

We believe that as a husband and wife love each other in the covenant they have made, that God’s goodness and love are displayed and demonstrated for the world to see. (Matthew 5:16)
