THEME:
Loving what God loves gives us tremendous purpose. We see this in the origin story of our faith. Our hope is to show God’s purpose for Israel from Abraham’s blessing, throughout the Old Testament, connecting with Jesus’ lineage in Matthew, highlighted by Paul and relevant to today.
SCRIPTURE:
Genesis 12:1-3
Romans 1:16-17
Genesis 12:1-3
Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
- God’s plans are bigger than we realize
- God’s purposes are unstoppable
- God’s promises are eternal
Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
