Ridgewood Preschool Lead Teacher

Ridgewood Church is committed to sharing the love of Jesus in a nurturing and play-based environment.  We will serve potty-trained children from ages 33 months-5 years with love, support, excitement, inquisitiveness, and encouragement.  Creating a partnership with our families provides the best foundation for our preschoolers to grow and learn.  The responsibilities of the lead teacher include:

  • Provide best care for preschoolers within your classroom with high level of organization, preparedness, positive behavior management, energy, and love.
  • Collaborate with other Ridgewood Preschool staff on how to deliver high-quality play-based learning derived from students’ interests, develop a rotation of materials, implement and execute data collection that illustrates student’s acquisition of skills and growth.
  • Execute lesson plans with delivery that inspires your preschoolers and be flexible to transition to a different plan when preschoolers need a change. Be cognizant of preschoolers’ developmental levels and needs.
  • Ensure that preschoolers are healthy and safe while in your care.
  • Cultivate an authentic and trusting relationship with the children and their families.
  • Partner with Ridgewood Preschool staff to provide excellent care to the preschoolers and families and to facilitate communication amongst the staff in how to provide that excellent care.
  • Follow policies and procedures of Ridgewood Preschool and adhere to Minnesota Department of Human Services (MN DHS) requirements for licensed childcare programs.
  • Attend meetings to complete required hours of continuing education per MN DHS and monthly, preschool staff meetings to refine service and care.
  • Respect confidentiality of Ridgewood Preschool families and staff.
  • Respond to family e-mails and notes within 24 hours and/or communicate to Ridgewood Preschool Director within 24 hours to have him/her communicate to families.
  • Prepare for parent/teacher conferences, schedule times in which to meet, and meet with parents twice throughout the school year.
  • Follow emergency and safety protocols of the preschool and MN DHS.
  • Perform additional duties as needed or assigned.

  • Provide best care for preschoolers within your classroom with high level of organization, preparedness, positive behavior management, energy, and love.
  • Collaborate with other Ridgewood Preschool staff on how to deliver high-quality play-based learning derived from students’ interests, develop a rotation of materials, implement and execute data collection that illustrates student’s acquisition of skills and growth.
  • Cultivate an authentic relationship with his/her students and their families
  • Follow policies and procedures of Ridgewood Preschool and adhere to Minnesota Department of Human Services (MN DHS) requirements for licensed childcare programs.
  • Attend meetings to complete required hours of continuing education per MN DHS and monthly, preschool staff meetings to refine service and care.
  • Respect confidentiality of Ridgewood Preschool families and staff.
  • Follow through with daily routine and teacher lesson plans within your classroom while also being flexible to change plans as preschoolers become engaged in an activity or event.
  • Prepare and distribute snack food for preschoolers prior to class snack time and adhere to all MN DHS standards of food storage, prep, and handling.
  • Promote good communication among other Ridgewood Preschool staff to make sure we are all providing care with love and excellence.
  • Ensure that preschoolers are healthy and safe while in your care.
  • Notify preschool director if there are any cleanliness/sanitary needs that need immediate attention.
  • Follow emergency and safety protocols of preschool and MN DHS.
  • Perform additional duties as needed or assigned.
