THEME:

The Apostle John is shown a scene in heaven in Revelation chapter 7. In this scene John witnesses a great multitude of people; from every nation, tribe, people and language. All of these people are worshiping and praising God for their great salvation. It is a glorious scene! Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ produces that scene. This Gospel is what the Apostle Paul is eager to preach to the Romans. Paul writes in Romans 1:15-17 why he is eager to preach, and why he is not ashamed of the Gospel.

KEY SCRIPTURE:

Romans 1:15-17

Revelation 7:9-12

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”  And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,  saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

Romans 1:15-17

So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.  For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

The Gospel is an event; what God has done for sinners

I am not ashamed of the Gospel. Why?

It is the power of God

It is unto salvation

For everyone who believes

Jew first, and also the Gentile

A righteousness from God is revealed

In this righteousness we live
