THEME:

As we’ve studied the book of Jonah, it’s become clear that he couldn’t let go of his anger, bitterness, or prejudice against the people of Nineveh. His hatred for them overshadowed even an incredible movement of God in their midst. To avoid becoming like Jonah, we must look past all the outer elements of a person that make us uncomfortable. We must do what God does: look into their eyes. See them as eternal beings. And acknowledge that each person is made in God’s image. That’s what I call: “Soul-seeing.”

KEY SCRIPTURE:

Acts 10:34-35

So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”

Learning to “soul-see” is essential to being an effective gospel witness

Acts 10:34

So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality…”

You begin to “soul-see” when you recognize that God sees everyone the same

Acts 10:35

“But in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”

It is important to see into your own soul to know if you truly trust Jesus

Micah 6:8

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Do your “soul-seeing” now, before it is too late
